This is follow-up to the Cycles of life article, aka the depression article.
The biggest picture is so big, that your whole life fits in there, with every aspect of it.
For example health: the reason to be healthy so you can accomplish YOUR big picture. No heath, no energy, no big picture.
You need to ask the question: what do I want to use my life for? Your big picture is up to you. But beware that if it is too big, or inauthentic, you will cause yourself suffering.
As I wrote in an earlier post this week, I have been depressed. I have lost the reason to live.
While I was writing the article, I managed to dispel the pitch black darkness, but I was still hovering over and above depression, so I wasn’t quite back in loving life, yet.
I waited till my regular Sunday call to do the work of going deeper.
I knew it had something to do with the big picture of my life: suddenly it wasn’t important to me any more. It was a “so what” phenomenon, and it did not empower me to live joyously any longer.
My Sunday call is 90 minutes long. I spent the first 60 minutes digging for how it is, how I don’t have a sense of making a difference, how I am too much ahead of my time. I compared myself with famous failures in this regard.
At the 61-minute mark I had a sudden realization: I feel I am working in vacuum, no one hears what I say (judging from the echo: none) and I suddenly found myself yearning for companionship, longing for someone to hear me. I even yearned to believe that there is an intelligence outside of myself, that can hear me.
I even wept a little. Grieved a little. Sighed a lot.
Then it dawned on me that in the Unconditional Love Activator the issue of your life being witnessed is brought up as an issue between you and You (your Observer, your Witness, your Watcher.)
I saw that this is what I lost sight of… that the most important “person” in the Universe, my Observer, hears every word I utter or write, and echoes it back to me. That I am not alone, that I can actually celebrate my accomplishments even though only my Witness hears it the way I say it.
And suddenly it got brighter in my office, and brighter inside.
I can stop yearning for companionship where I won’t be appreciated, won’t be listened: because that is the way the world is.
I am not walking alone: I have my Witness with me every step of the way. Never alone, never not heard.
Of course the big picture needs to be worded in such a way that the fact that the world can’t hear me is unimportant, that it is not part of MY big picture.
It is not important who hears me. It is not important that I make a difference. It is important that I create an energetic precedence, an opening in the fabric of reality that with me it will include human being, not just the pretense of it, but the energetic reality of it.
Now, could I have done the work of clearing myself without someone actually hearing me? Not likely. It is like digging for gold: if no one holds and removes the empty soil, you’ll just shuffle the empty dirt, never getting to the gold… ever.
I can help you in the Reclaim program to formulate your biggest picture… if you feel up to it.
It will be a long process… I have tried (and Landmark Education tries it every day) and we all found that possibility (another name for the big picture) disappears unless it is kept alive with actions consistent with the big picture and with regular conversation for the big picture.
My personal experience is that it didn’t even last past the call… let alone a lifetime.
The cost is tremendous: living a life without aim, without purpose is a life not worth living.
And yeah, purpose is another word for the big picture.
And here is where I learned about witnessing…
In the move “Shall we dance” Susan Sarandon’s character, Beverly Clark says:
We need a witness to our lives. There’s a billion people on the planet… I mean, what does any one life really mean? But in a marriage, you’re promising to care about everything. The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things… all of it, all of the time, every day. You’re saying ‘Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness’.
