How to know yourself? The sideways glance

Knowing yourself well is vitally important when you want to interact with reality powerfully.

What’s in the way of you knowing yourself well?

Illusions, delusions, flattery, comparison, arrogance, I could continue this list for a whole page.

So given that so many things are in the way, blocking or distorting your view, how do you get to know yourself?

How your relationship to money says everything about you

Just so you know, when I wrote that title I had suddenly a sharp reaction in my gut… Fear…

I’ll spend the rest of the day looking at that… very interesting. The word that set it off was the word ‘everything’… So if you reacted the same way… let’s look together!

Your relationship to money, revealed, will shed light to everything in every area of your life.

But it is harder to see them in other areas of life, while in the area of money it, they are easier to see and catch.

The movie Trading Places was funny but wholly and totally psychologically unfounded… Its authenticity ended just after the scene where the Black dude (played by Eddie Murphy) shoves expensive stuff in his pocket to make them his. That was both believable and authentic.

it’s too late to dig a well when you are already thirsty

this is the expression I use to pitch reactive and proactive. Soul knows what you will need down the line, and it will bring it to you. Trust that it will be needed.

Being reactive, trying to invent a solution in the moment is exciting, but it’s always misdirected, and takes your life off purpose.

One of the most important effects the Heaven on Earth activator is expected to accomplish is turn of your reactive nature and turn on your proactive nature.

kabbalistic view of creation

Kabbalah, like any school of thought, has arguments within it.

I have studied the Kabbalah Centre version of thought, and here is what Rav Berg teaches (from Wikipedia)
Origins of the Universe according to Berg
The light is understood as part of the duality in the “light filled vessel” metaphor central to Berg’s cosmology. In Berg’s telling, the Kabbalistic origin of the universe is in agreement with the Big Bang – prior to a massive explosion, a sacred vessel was united with the light that filled it. The light was the force of creation and the vessel the force of desire/receiving. When the vessel desired to create, the two separated, resulting in void, followed by an explosion which shattered the vessel. These broken shards of vessel and light became the imperfect physical universe.

Said in a more poetic way: In the beginning there was The Light. Its nature was giving, but there was nothing to receive. So The Light created The Vessel, and the vessel was infused with the desire to receive.

At some point The Vessel experienced “bread of shame” and refused to receive the light of The Light unless it earned it.

The Light complied and withdrew itself to a tiny point… in the vacuum (space) the physical Universe sprang into place (the Big Bang.)

Bread of shame refers to the guilt and shame one experiences when one receives without a chance to reciprocate it or earn it.

The Vessel broke to tiny bits in the explosion and each tiny fragment is a soul, from time to time inhabiting a human in the physical universe, in the world of scarcity and separation, earning their light, so one day they can return to the world of unity and onness.

The mirage of inner transformation… A mirage? Yes.

I don’t really care about the mating habits of water buffalo… but I can’t look away…

I heard that little ditty yesterday on Amazon Prime Video. And I laughed for quite a few minutes.

And I think it describes some people’s relationship to my articles, to my teachings. I think people are fascinated or can’t look away… But that doesn’t mean they care about what I teach. Or doing anything with it.

The rare specimen that does makes it all worthwhile…

I don’t cater to the lowest common denominator… the easily titillated… so I have only a few people who read my articles. When I look at everyone else, TV, Social Media, websites… I see that they do cater to the low… otherwise they would not stay in business, I think.

Everyone blames social media, but the media is just the medium: the low vibration comes from people. And no one takes personal responsibility for their own vibration, for how they see the world, and for how they spread darkness.

And most people do. Spread darkness.

The ones that are sure they aren’t are part of the evil by doing nothing.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
Edmund Burke (British statesman) didn’t say this. What he said is this:
When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.
And later another British philosopher said:
Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing.
So this is the age (again?) where we live… and maybe, just maybe, people who subscribe to my site are ‘good men’ or at least fancy themselves good… but they definitely do nothing.

So what is there to do? Fight the bad men? Futile. Wasted energy.
So what can a good man do that would matter?
This is a real question and I am pondering.

I have one student who, I think, is doing what a good Man is to do to balance out the bad, who is doing what you would do if you considered yourself with a fire that unless it’s attended to, will burn out.

Because Life, intelligent life is on its way out… unless…

Unless you do what the philosophers of old said: your job is to make the most of yourself.

Isn’t that selfish? It is Self-ish. And it is noble. It is generous. It is grand… especially in times where the world is rooting for fun and games. For the orgy.

Will those, can those turn the tide around?
I don’t think so. But there is joy, their is fulfillment, there is self-love when you do it. For you. Because you matter.
I read that one student’s reports to me, and I learn more about what it was like for her before she started to awaken herself… and embark on this work of becoming all she can become.

The ones that are in the middle of it have very little to say. But given that she has climbed, at least partially, out of the pool of ‘water’ that she used to sit in, she can look and compare.

The students that have never been outside

koan

a koan is a story, dialogue, question, or statement, which is used in Zen-practice to provoke the “great doubt”, and test a student’s progress in Zen practice.

it doesn’t seem to make sense until you penetrate the meaning, until you penetrate the layers that seeming reality covers up.

marketing

Marketing is not sales, although sales is part of marketing.

Marketing, in essence, finding the people that want what you have and presenting them with it. It is the art of connecting people with each other, connecting people with the fulfillment of their needs.

It is more an art than a science, and there is nothing fishy about it.

You want me to have good marketing, you want me to be a good marketer, or you will never find out what you need to do to become the best you you can be.

I am not a naturally good marketer, and I can use any suggestions or help you can provide. I am an introvert, and don’t naturally connect to others, I like to spend time with myself…

If you are a connector, I want you to help me.

How would you know if you’ve EVER learned anything?

When I teach you, do you learn? How would I know?

No preamble, no hello, no niceties: Unless you do life the way I taught you to do it, you didn’t learn.

Unless you understand that the power of knowledge is in what it enables you to do… because only action matters. Only action will get you what you want..

The mind

When I talk about the mind, I talk about an aspect of a human, the brain function of gathering, storing, and retrieving information. It is a simple and stupid computer thinking itself as you.

It is stupid, because it has NO FACULTIES to decide if what is being fed to it is true or not, it can only COMPARE what is coming in to what it already stores.

It sets up filters to your perception, hearing, seeing, sensing, to filter out everything it considers not relevant… but it takes its clue for relevancy in what it already stores.

If you decided as a child that you are useless and dumb, it will not allow you to hear anything counter to that, or anything that would need useful and intelligent.

Your mind is not your friend. You need to start control it, and take leadership.

There is the you, the part of you that isn’t judging and isn’t judged. That is what we will consider the Real You. That is the part of you that is the Boss.

And the servants or employees are the body, the mind, the soul, the ego, the subconscious, the will, the intellect… they each serve a different purpose in keeping you alive, in making you grow, in your being.

All that talk about making your mind better, etc. is based on misunderstanding or often is a deliberate attempt (successful so far) to enslave you.

Because the mind does not include critical faculties, it is the primary way to manipulate you, and make other people’s bidding… like government, church, Dark Side, etc.

money-grubbing

seeking greedily to obtain money at every opportunity…

In terms of Source and laws of money: if someone isn’t giving you the value you are paying for, can be considered money-grubbing.

The question is, of course, in the eye of the buyer: if you are buying “raise your vibration” but you don’t know the first thing about vibration, raising, measuring, everything that makes you feel good, different, everything that is distracting to you, will be good enough.

I have a recommendation to you: stop following the news, stop watching television, and start reading. Good books. Preferably non-fiction. Fiction is a way for you to hide from your life, but the purpose of life is not to hide from but to live your life.

Consider that your life’s purpose, if you want to live a harmonious, interesting, and rewarding life, then your life’s purpose must be in harmony, and must also fulfill the soul’s purpose.

The soul wants you to make the most of yourself while you help it improve itself, go from a pure receiver to a contributor, participant, giver, expanding entity.

The same will work nicely for you, and you’ll be a happy couple, you and your soul.

How to do that? My courses teach just that. Simple but not easy… but rewarding. The only rewarding life I have ever heard about.
