Pursuit of happiness? or Noticing happiness?

The pursuit of happiness pushes happiness away, like a snow plow pushes snow
I find myself more often than not, in complete sync with my favorite people, one of them is Roy H. Williams, the Wizard of Ads, famous ad man with a whole school of like-minded amazing expert, and thousands of students.

Roy H. Williams is a Christian, and that bothers me, but it’s the concept that bothers me, not the man. He writes about the subject I have been pursuing on this blog for the past week or so… so here is his piece from today’s Monday Morning Memo.

Don’t be hungry! Don’t be eager! Don’t be hellbent on success! Don’t be infatuated!

Many people may say to you: to be successful, you need to have fire in the belly. You need to be hungry.

So people, maybe you, beat yourself into a feeding frenzy, and set out to conquer the world.

Your mother said: don’t go food shopping when you are hungry. Why? Because when your belly calls the shot, your higher faculties take leave of absence, and you’ll make horrible decisions. You’ll buy everything you should not eat, and enough food for ten. I have done it… horrid.

It is when the tail wags the dog.

Awakening: the one practice that takes you all the way to enlightenment

The illusion of progress
I had a rude awakening this morning. The illusion of progress, the illusion of doing something that works hasn’t left me untouched either.

In my coaching session this morning I woke up, I woke up from my illusion. The illusion that people understand what it takes to grow, what it takes to become an expanding human being, the illusion that people know anywhere what the work entails.

I think this illusion is shared by quite a few teachers, but not being alone is not a consolation, it’s just a fact.

Updated: Remove negativity, eliminate negativity: is that a good thing?

Negativity is a buzz word. It makes half of what is wrong, and it makes half of what is right. Much like the farmer in one of Osho’s stories, who wanted to teach god how to have the weather…

A farmer who, after a poor harvest, complained: “If God let me control the weather, everything would be better. He apparently doesn’t know much about farming.”

Osho on money and happiness

If you ask anyone, they all want to be happy. But happiness eludes people, the more you want it the further it goes. In this talk, Osho addresses the issue. He approaches it from many different angles, blaming it on your parents, blaming it on society, and then finally he gives you a glimpse of …

How to measure vibration? How to measure consciousness? how to measure your vibrational frequency

You are a liar! That’s why you are not moving forward…

I know it is a shocking and offending title. Neither shocking nor offending is my purpose. I want to teach you something… so bear with me… I need to take you through the steps, so you get what I mean… how you lie, and why it prevents you from growing and being happy.
What is language?
Language is a mode of communication, Humans communicate, animals communicate, plants communicate.

Plants communicate with posture, with chemicals, with smell.
Animals communicate with posture, with touch, with chemicals, and with sound.
Humans also communicate all those ways, except humans, eve though they could be, are unaware, unconscious, and consider language the only communication. Not all humans, mind you, but the majority.

Andy Shaw’s Bug free mind… The good, the bad, and the ugly.

The bad:
The biggest flaw of Andy Shaw’s work is it’s starting point.
Andy Shaw considers the mind important: He holds, that if you can change your mind you can change everything.
Not so. The mind isn’t the problem.

Even if you could change your mind, change the content in your mind, nothing would change.

The determinant of your actions, your attitude, your moods, your feelings is NOT the mind, but your being.

Bug Free Mind: No mind vs. Mindfulness

Andy teaches a technique to get to no mind. It was easy for me… but I doubt that it’s easy for you.

When you are a “normal” human: living more than 70% of the time in your mind, repeating the same mental processes day in and day out, when you relate to the world through the mind, when you don’t spend any time in the present moment, then getting into no-mind is beyond you.

The best you can do is enter an illusion.
