I’d like to write about love, or being loving today.
In this space I’ll quote Osho, and other people… I am not going to talk about what YOU call love, because what you call love is not love… unless you can call ‘loving ice cream,’ love.

Mind says: the important thing is to have the answer.
Life says: the important thing is to have the question.
Thinking, the proper use of the thinking part of the brain, is to ask questions. Questions allow you to penetrate things deeply, to see new connections, to see what’s below the surface.
The mind, also a part of the brain, isn’t interested in that, the mind really isn’t interested in anything. Maybe gossip, but that is it.
The first Osho book I have ever read, was Maturity. I started to read it in the store, and fell in love with it.
It echoed one of my favorite Landmark courses, the Wisdom Course.
In that course, maturity was a state (they call it possibility, just a Landmark word!): where you were using adult capacities to live your life.
One would think that when you are an adult you use your adult capacities, but that is not the case.
I am most famous for my ability to distinguish. Distinguishing is a rare capacity, the ability to tell the forest from the tree. It is solidly based on the ability to peel off layers so one can get to the root… and often below the level that used to be considered the root. Layer below layer below layer.
This past week I had the good fortune to go deeper yet again.
Imagine if you found out that all your hopes for a “normal” life are crushed. You are too old to get married, your way of communicating doesn’t attract the other sex anyway.
You just found out…
The level of evolution where you are is called human. The next level is called human being.
I know, I know, everyone says, even the dictionary, that you are a human being, but it’s a misnomer.
One famous marketer is filling my mail box with emails to double the speed of my reading. I used to jump on offers like that, I have taken three different speed reading classes, one even back in Hungary.
It seemed to me, like it probably seems to you, that getting the knowledge out of the written word faster would double your knowledge, and maybe double your success.
It makes sense, doesn’t it?
Capacities are like skills:
you either use them or you don’t
You either recognize them or you don’t
You either develop them or you don’t… but the rest of your life depends on it.
The capacity to tell truth from illusion, reality from unreality
…is one such capacity is at the root of developing beliefs that will support you and what you are up to. The enemy is introduced below:
Reality? Collective hunch at best.
Being skeptical is a fixed way of being in the world, an attitude. Skeptical is the other side of belief.
On the surface it looks like it’s a good thing, after all belief is suspending your own thinking capacities, and taking blindly what someone gives up. So the opposite must be good, right? Wrong.
There have been several awakenings in my life.
The first potential awakening was when I was 22 years old. I had been in the mental hospital for two weeks and my condition didn’t get better, no matter what they did to me. They even tried to use insulin shock therapy on me… that’s really bad, if you want to know the truth.
Then, as a last resort, they sent me to the “showers” that you should know from the Cuckoo’s nest movie… halfway though the “showers” I snapped out of it. There I was stark naked, and the misery wasn’t me, it wasn’t even mine.
