One of the remarkable things in the book, Flowers for Algernon, is the new awareness Charlie (Charly) has about his mental state.
When he was just a retarded person, he could see the shadow of the mental feebleness, but once he got smarter, when his mental abilities decline, he can see it directly… not only the shadow.
Once you raised your cell hydration, which translates for most people to a brain surgery similar to Charlie’s, you have a higher factual IQ. You should move to the same position as Ch
How to Get Your Mind to Read ((article by Daniel T. Willingham (@DTWillingham) is a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia and the author, most recently, of “The Reading Mind: A Cognitive Approach to Understanding How the Mind Reads.” Republished from the New York Times

Americans are not good readers. Many blame the ubiquity of digital media. We’re too busy on Snapchat to read, or perhaps internet skimming has made us incapable of reading serious prose. But Americans’ trouble with reading predates digital technologies. The problem is not bad reading habits engendered by smartphones, but bad education habits engendered by a misunderstanding of how the mind reads.
The question in the title is as vague as a question can be vague… But it is still a good question. If you look at yourself, you, I bet, knew what the question was, even though none of the words … Continue reading “Can you change the world by changing yourself?” Related Posts: Vibrational reviews: […]
What is wrong with movies, TV series, that I can’t stomach… or barely?
I am talking about good stories. I am talking about shows with good or passable actors, good directing… And yet the show is scarcely enjoyable because the character doesn’t fit. the inner world of the character is off… tells a different story.
Like the serial killer in The Fall… more about it later.
I have been pondering this for the past few months when there are less and less stuff to watch, and I have less and less ambition to fill my day with work.
And finally I got it.
In fact some movie director lead me to it. He said: I prefer to let an actor do
I have always liked getting things done. Why? Because everything that doesn’t get done is like an energetic attachment, like a ball and chain on your ankle, slows you down, and prevents you from soaring… having a good time, feeling free and unencumbered.
I don’t like those feelings, so I learn, test, experiment with methods that allow me to be free.
I even like to be lighter in weight because I don’t like to be heavy in any way, including physically.
I handle problems, issues, doubts, the same way… handle them so the weights can disappear.
Nicht Normale… as my parents used to say. Not your normal child… lol. And not your normal adult.
During shopping. Is a fruit bowl worth the extra $3? It was 9.95, and it’s now 12.95… she says, and I have no idea how to answer. She has no idea what the weight of the fruit is, what the fruit would cost if you bought it and chopped it up yourself.

One of the most useful things I have ever done is this:
I would find a mentor. I offered my services to do whatever needed done. More often than not I learned useful skills through the doing. Skills that I needed for myself. And while I was around the mentor, I could learn from him.
Life needs a lot of skills to do life successfully. The opportunities to learn those skills is sparse… Because skills are not knowledge, even if they are mental, intellectual skills: they are the ability to do, to perform a skill… not to understand it.
To learn skills on your own stuff is very difficult. Why? Because you are too invested, you
What is IQ, what is smart, and what does it have to do with DNA capacities?
If you read my previous article, you know that I think of the movie “The Constant Gardener.” As I was looking for pictures, I stumbled onto a movie review where the person either didn’t see the movie or is dumb. And the article is five years old, and he never realized that he is dumb.
So that prompted me to look for article s where dumb people think they are smart. Here is one… I am going to make slight changes in the original…
20 Reasons Why The World Is Full Of Dumb People Who Think They’re Smart
