The Islamic State is no mere collection of psychopaths. It is a religious group with carefully considered beliefs, among them that it is a key agent of the coming apocalypse. Here’s what that means for its strategy—and for how to stop it.
What is the Islamic State?
Where did it come from, and what are its intentions? The simplicity of these questions can be deceiving, and few Western leaders seem to know the answers. In December, The New York Times published confidential comme
The willingness to look is a behavior, it’s an attitude, and therefore cannot be activated.
If you act without looking, or if you act from what is stored in your mind, then the activator of the capacity to see the consequences of your actions won’t make any difference.
There is a prerequisite to seeing: and that is looking.
And most of you do not have the habit to look…
One of the arrogant behaviors is to not look. I do it, you do it.
Is that a stupid behavior? Yeah, it is. And stupid as the stupid does… that is why I am stupid, and you are stupid too.
Whenever I remember that I am stupid, it is a reminder to look… and then the capacity of seeing the consequences of my action kicks in… and voila, I make a smart decision from what I see.
So you see, stupid is not a capacity or the lack of it, stupid is behavior.
Like knowledge, capacities are either conscious or not.
When a knowledge, a skill, a capacity is conscious, you know to reach for it when it would be useful. It is like you know you have a Phillips screwdriver… and you reach for it.
But if you have never had a Phillips screwdriver, as far as you are concerned, you have to substitute other methods to screw in a screw, imperfect tools for an imperfect result, or give it up and find another screw. Makes sense so far?
Warning: as always, the most important things are explained in the footer part of the post! Don’t miss them!
Some weeks are like this: I do something, see something, write about something important, and on Monday Roy Williams’ Monday Morning Memo echoes it.
This is the case this week… You know when you manage to do something whose time has come? Gratifying, rewarding, like the Universe nods in your direction. ((Roy Wil
Every success proves nothing. It can be luck, it can be accident, it can be smarts… you can’t be sure.
I am an architect by trade… and all my life as an architect I was wondering if I was talented. I could never say for certain. I could win contests, I could win awards, talent is not proven by them.
Finally I gave it up and sighed a sigh of freedom and relief.
You are the same way about being smart… or whatever is your issue. (Some people have an issue with being liked, loved, valued, respected, etc. But I think everyone has some issue with smarts. I could be wrong…)
My recommendation is that you consider the Forrest Gump saying: Stup
I just finished a Talk-to-me call. It’s a call available for people on my mailing list, where they can ask any questions and get answers, coaching, whatever they need. The call was a breakthrough in a lot of ways.
First off, I distinguished for myself, for the second time, that unless I fall in step with the person I coach, they can’t get what I am saying as contribution and cannot act on it.
Falling in step with music is obviously fun. Falling in step with a drum circle is fun. But falling in step with another person is a challenge. But unless you do, discord is the result.
What is vibration? What is the vibration that is the vibrational scale of 1 to 1000?
In this article I’ll answer the questions: what is vibration, and what that means. I’ll also tell you how to measure vibration. And in the end I’ll let you know how to pick a teacher or a guru who is the best vibrational match to you, so you can start raising your vibration with their teaching.
I am very lucky: the questions my students send me have caused me to have a deeper understanding for my own work.
These students are often seeking new insights in their pressing circumstances from me. Lately it is all about making a decision to go or leave, to let go or to fight.
It is a huge responsibility to talk to people who are looking for answers.
If they use the insights I give them and don’t make them their own, they run the risk of making a decision “because” I said so.
One of my students asked “is it a matter of meditating over this decision now?”
This particular student has been a meditator for five years. The particular form of meditation he is doing with some master is to open up his ability to gain insight from All-of-it.
And this seemingly intelligent move, to meditate to gain insight is what I want to talk about today.
If you are a “normal” human being, brought up by parents or caregivers, if you went to school, if
