The connection between the number of words you can correctly use in writing or in speaking and your intelligence, your worth a damn factor, and your deserving the good life… or not.
I am a reader. I read a lot. But yet, a whole new world opened up for me when I started to read on the Kindle. Why? Because it has a built in dictionary. As a result, I have added, to date, 2,000 words to my vocabulary.
It was very cumbersome to read with a dictionary before… I would lose my place, etc.
But the Kindle has made it possible.
I find the word… but sometimes the word in the dictionary is not useful.
I am reading Seneca, the person with whom my teaching of how to live life, how to be happy, i
In my quest to find like-minded people, who want to better humanity, I am watching videos, and am exposed the feelings of the speaker, commentator, or whoever is in the video.
What prompted this article is a bout of weeping… for no reason.
I am sitting here examining the context inside which this happened, and I Have had no reason to be sad, to weep.
So I ask, somewhat late, this usual question: is this mine? The answer is NO. Does this belong to one of my students? no. one of my readers? no. to the speaker on the video? yes.
Now, this was today. But whenever I watch a sales video… or maybe even read a sales email…
I get the feeling of the person who wrote it.
Most often: hope+fear: A perfect prescription for misery. ((
I just read an article on our mindset, collective mindset, where you wait until something goes really wrong and then you seek out help. It’s here in pdf form… for your convenience. incremental-medicine
This is the mindset in every area of your life, health, wealth, love, and happiness.
Anything that doesn’t require drama, heroism, anything that is not over the top is ignored, poopooed, looked down upon. In every area of life. By you, and by “them”. You dream of being a billionaire while your bills aren’t paid. You dream of a p

Some activities fill you up, some activities drain your energy.
One of the most important capacities one can develop is to tell the difference… and start managing one’s energy.
Sometimes you give your energy to another and get back nothing… Maybe money, but money does not fill you up. Money does not give you energy. It may buy groceries… but even groceries only give you physical energy.
The depletion is of psychic energy, of spiritual energy, of intellectual energy.
I came up with the expression “top 10% of your mind” many years ago, when I was teaching the What Color of Your Parachute workshop.
It is said that you only use 5% of your brain. But, of course, you use all of your brain most of the time, but not for something worth using a precision instrument even the stupidest person possesses.
The truth is that 99% of your usage, what you see, what you say about what you feel, what you think is not new, and not accurate and not worth thinking, because it leads to no benefit.
I have students that make this phenomenon very easy to observe.
If you put all their posts together, take out the repetitive stuff, you end up with
I just realized that I left out one of the most frequent energy leaks, need leaks from the last article.
And that is the minuscule pleasure you gain when you feel clever, when you feel you got one over someone, when you are told you are clever.
Or maybe that you are pretty. Or maybe some other compliment, that you are put together. Or that you do a good job.
Any compliment that you find important.
You are the guy/gal who, when you do the five questions exercise, you pay attention to the positive feedback. When you listen to me: you are waiting for the positive feedback… and hear none of the negative, or if you do, you grieve about it, but won’t change a thing.
A lot of years ago a guy, another participant stood up in a Landmark Education seminar and shared something that has impacted my life to this day.
Here is what he said:
“The other day I was lying on the couch, working on a report for my workplace.
I didn’t like what I wrote, so I crumpled the paper and pitched it to the waste basket that was on the other side of the room. After missing it several times, my wife picked up the waste basket and put it right next to me.”
That was all he said. I was shaken to the core. Move the things you need close to where you need them… Hah.
But this hidden agenda, to profit from every interaction, at your expense is not limited to the internet, it is just easier to see the dynamic there. It is harder to see it in person to person interactions, with every single person you interact with, or in books, articles, organizations, charity, politics, or people and their pets.
And it is hardest to see in yourself.
I am not condemning it: it seems that “desire for the self alone” is having a new renaissance, and you either don’t notice it, or are in a conspiracy for “I won’t tell on you, if you won’t tell on me.”
I am a person who is well trained to help people create a context for their lives, for their relationships, for their businesses… a context, words, a spea
Parents are not trained educators. They don’t allow you to be a child: they only care about themselves… not you, no matter how much they pretend, even to themselves. You, as a parent, are the same way…
You would be better off living in a children’s home where everyone is trained in personal growth.
Because parents are much like those fraudulent personal growth, get rich, get well and thin, “take a tablet and become forever young/pain free/etc.” marketers.
Why? I guess a stupid person cannot teach another to be smart.
What is smart? It is smart to Learn from Life. Life has been around, successfully, way longer than you and me.
Metabolism is a process within the human body that occurs as the food a person eats is converted into energy. Some people’s metabolisms operate more efficiently than others’.
Generally, you want the food that you eat to burn as energy instead of being stored as a fat cell.
Some factors that help to regulate metabolism are beyond our control – such as age, genetics, and gender.
However, other metabolic factors are within our control, such as muscle-to-fat ratio and the overall health of our bodies.
Kids didn’t use to get fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes; today doctors are seeing a rise in children with metabolic syndrome. Researchers found “that within 10 days of going off sugar,
