If you had a childhood trauma… what is the best way to deal with it now, so you can grow?
Some of you were abused as a child.
Now, strictly speaking, there is no such thing as abuse in reality. Abuse is a particular interpretation of something that happened. If I asked a visiting Martian what happened, he would say things like one person hit the other, or one person yelled at another, or one person tied up another, pushed them down, maybe even put one part of their anatomy into the other… but not abuse.
Abuse never happened… or it happened only if you said so… for you. In your
As I often do, this morning I revisited a movie I saw a few years ago, The Constant Gardener.
In that movie, a British activist and a Kenyan doctor work to expose the pharmaceutical companies that experiment with new drugs on Kenyan people, who die from the experimental drugs. The activist and the doctor get gunned down by Kenyan hired thugs.
No big deal, so why am I weeping every time I think of it?
So this morning I looked at it.
This is what I saw:
It’s a purely cultural rule to see value in life. Without that rule, human gre
When you have a capacity activated… will you be great right away? Courageous, insightful, self-trusting?
One of the “results” I’ve been seeing is this:
The ego is responsible, or at least feels responsible for your survival. It’s like a domineering mother… it professes to know what is good for you and what isn’t.
Mothers will stop you from becoming all you can be… unless…
Unless you bother to sweet-talk them into seeing your side of the situation.
The Islamic State is no mere collection of psychopaths. It is a religious group with carefully considered beliefs, among them that it is a key agent of the coming apocalypse. Here’s what that means for its strategy—and for how to stop it.
What is the Islamic State?
Where did it come from, and what are its intentions? The simplicity of these questions can be deceiving, and few Western leaders seem to know the answers. In December, The New York Times published confidential comme
It seems that one method of making the newly activated capacities real has been found.
As you know, having activated DNA capacities is nice, but unless you need it, they won’t do anything. They will be like lights that are on in streets that no one passes.
The methods I am looking for are methods that make you go into those streets, so you use the light and find ways to be different, do different, have different results, different reactions, different feelings.
The issue with comfortable and somewhat successful people (you) has been is that ego won’t
Sometimes people get an idea of activating a capacity that is so alien to their culture, it takes a good 5-10 minutes for the history channel, the ancestors backwards, to build.
It is so unfamiliar that ego doesn’t even know to protest. It is like a way of being that is totally unfamiliar… you can’t see other than special people, like kung fu fighters, or shaolin monks to demonstrate.
Flexibility is the capacity to be able to keep your balance even though the world is pushing you hither and tether…
It is human nature to want to be smart. The feeling is: the smarter you are the better life will be.
But being smart from the mind isn’t very smart, except to the people who put the stuff in your mind.
In my readings about different cultures, the Chinese culture is a good example of that kind of smart. For hundreds and hundreds of years, the Chinese has been encouraged to repeat, not think.
For two years I had three Chinese students live next door: no thinking, no emotions, was my experience. If any emotions were felt by me, it was the emotions of visitors
If I asked you what will be the most important capacity to master in the coming years, you would come up with all kinds of capacities, but I bet you would not think of saying: becoming astute.
If you go to the online dictionary, like one of my students did, the one for whom I made this activators, you would not understand why that capacity is important.
