From filing clerk of information, to glorious human being

Mind says: the important thing is to have the answer.
Life says: the important thing is to have the question.

Thinking, the proper use of the thinking part of the brain, is to ask questions. Questions allow you to penetrate things deeply, to see new connections, to see what’s below the surface.

The mind, also a part of the brain, isn’t interested in that, the mind really isn’t interested in anything. Maybe gossip, but that is it.

Andy Shaw’s Bug free mind… The good, the bad, and the ugly.

The bad:
The biggest flaw of Andy Shaw’s work is it’s starting point.
Andy Shaw considers the mind important: He holds, that if you can change your mind you can change everything.
Not so. The mind isn’t the problem.

Even if you could change your mind, change the content in your mind, nothing would change.

The determinant of your actions, your attitude, your moods, your feelings is NOT the mind, but your being.

What goal should you set? A goal is a result achieved by a certain time…

A friend of mine asked for help in setting a goal. It wasn’t that he was interested in accomplishment. Really, he wanted to look like he was… Appearances.

Why am I so hard on him? I’ve known him for four-five years, and he hasn’t done anything, hasn’t accomplished anything.

He started a lot of things, talked about starting even more, but never actually took anything near a place where it would have worked, where it would have been either a failure or success.

Mind Bug #1: Knowing

The first and most important bug is KNOWING

In the Bible, in Aramaic, the verb “know” means living with, sleeping with. Intellectual knowing is a different word.

In today’s word knowing is one of those words that have many meanings. The purpose of calling many things with the same word is …

Push or pull, inspiration or motivation or ambition?

As you know I am dyslexic. Very dyslexic. Reading even my own articles online is nearly impossible.

Today I got an article in an email where Andy of bugfree fame talks about the difference between motivation and inspiration. I could grab a sentence here and there… but I really could not read the article. But it’s been knocking about in my head, and I want to share with you what I experienced, and what opening I see for myself, an opening I have never seen before. I put the whole article in the footnotes… the article I could never read myself… ((In today’s footstep I am going to answer a question I had in a few days ago regarding motivation. I was asked what motivates me to make me to achieve my dreams.
To cover it I am going to take a section from the 2nd part of the Process Using A Bug Free Mind (Chapter 18 – Taking The Red Pill).
It comes from the point wh

It’s not wrong beliefs that keep you stuck in poverty, sickness, or misery

Beliefs are thought forms. Words. Mind-stuff.

The Universe is holographic. Holographic, among others, means that the patterns repeat in big and small things alike. ((Although the whole looks quite chaotic, because cause and effect is hardly detectable, because of the size of the system (the whole Universe), if we had enough distance from the system, we would find patterns that are repeating… which is the nature of fractals and holographs.

Now, I am certain that the sentence above didn’t make sense to most, for the sake of the very few that can appreciate it, I needed to say it.))

One of the patterns is the tree-like diagram of root-stem-fruit. We’ll examine that pattern in this article

The roots are hidden in the soil. The stem looks the same for most trees. And then the fruit is very specific.

Most self-improvement systems are busy improving the fruit without

Is being astute a good thing? Or does it mean you are a bad person who wants to deceive others?

If I asked you what will be the most important capacity to master in the coming years, you would come up with all kinds of capacities, but I bet you would not think of saying: becoming astute.

If you go to the online dictionary, like one of my students did, the one for whom I made this activators, you would not understand why that capacity is important.

Here is what the dictionary has to say:

as·tute
/??st(y)o?ot/
Adjective
Having or showing an ability to accurately assess situations or people and turn this to one’s advantage: “an astute businessman”.
Synonyms
shrewd – sly – wily – crafty – canny – artful – sharp

To understand the meaning better, you look at the synonyms, and you are appalled, am I right? They are all words usually used to express one kind of deception or another.

But the meaning is only the first few words, the rest of them is added by “culture”: “Ha

Your desires…

I have been pondering a student’s email all morning.  ((I woke up today with a real distinction between ‘me’ and ‘my machine’.  It is so coo!  I can actually feel the two different states of being.  Thanks Sophie!

This is so cool I just had to share it with you.  It gives me a real sense of how I can relate to my machine differently.  Here’s hoping I can stay in this state of awareness as the day progresses.  For the rest of my life is preferable!!  For the rest of my life is my goal.  🙂

Wow, my poor little machine!  Doing so much of my work.  Let’s see how I do in directing her instead of her trying to do something she is not capable of doing effectively, and something she is not equipped to do. )) And when I ponder, I do it while I do other things.

What I do most frequently is play Freecell, a card game, a solitaire. I can have my bilocation mos

Worry

I have to admit, I would have never thought to write this article, without reading Andy Shaw’s book, Creating a Bug Free Mind. He writes extensively about worry.

I never thought of myself as a worrier, but, of course, I still worry from time to time. Nowhere near as much as others.

They call it fear of failure, anxiety, but it is all worry.

Spending all your mental energy fretting about something in the future, while in the present things don’t get done. Hm. Really stupid, isn’t it?
