During the summer of 1966 I ran into a girl I knew from elementary school. Turns out she applied and was accepted to the same school I was going to start in that September.
We were having a chat. I remember thinking to myself: Compared to her I know everything… why am I going to school?
We both graduated. I am sure she still thinks she knows everything. My experience is that I know less and less as time goes by.
Whether you can identify with my 19 year old person, or my 69 year old person, and to what degree will be important, so jot it down.
This is a hypothesis that will need to be confirmed with tests. I could also say: it’s a hunch.
And my hunch is that the less trustworthy you are the less trust you have. Period.
Hah, but trust, as a verb, is transitive.
So let’s see what COULD you trust, if you did:
1. trust in yourself… aka self-trust.Trusting that what comes out of your mouth is the truth
Trusting that you can
Trusting that you will
Trusting that your “beliefs” are accurate
Trusting that you can meet your own expectations of yourself
Trusting that you can meet other people’s expectations
and probably a lot more. We’ll talk about “beliefs” that everyone seems to know what they me
This article shows the state of official science for emotional intelligence.
Psychologists are not interested in the groundbreaking work developed in the books Feelings and Words…
Although when you can already recognize your feelings, their inner dynamics, what they want you to do, what trap you my have stepped, unwittingly, the advice below is quite good.
Until then I don’t think it’s useful… Or may not be useful.
Even though emotional intelligence is really important to live a good life, to have good relationships, to get things done, to be well… for all of life.
OK, here is the article from Wikihow
Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the ability to tap into your emotions and use them to make your life better. Being in touch with your feelings allows you to manage stress levels and communicate effectively with other people, two skills that enhance your life both personally and professionally. Unlike IQ, which remains constant throughout your life,
As we saw, the two capacities, humility: (saying: I don’t know), and seeing the big picture/looking at the thing inside the big picture, are the most predictive of people who can and will correct their faulty mental picture of reality.
Of these humility is primary.
Humility is what gets us out of our head, and makes us look again.
The mood of this: maybe I didn’t see it right!
We all know people who didn’t look twice, and walked into a trap, walked into disaster with their heads high, no idea that the trap is there.
And how you do anything is how you do everything. So if that is you: it is all over the place for you, in every area of your life.
For me holidays are important, because they are not routine. And because it is so easy to be in a routine, and not consider it a rut… even I need something outside to change to take a different look at … Continue reading → Related Posts: Soul Correction: Forget Thyself Soul Correction: Trust But Don’t […]
The story. Your story. It is either inspiring or it is depressing… either way it’s the context of your life
Your story can be your personal story. Telling what happened from your personal point of view. No creativity is required: it’s already applied generously.
Why? How? Anything that happened is turned into words… and words, whenever applied, create a story, a story line, an interpretation. Filters added creatively… Skewed.
Your story can be the story of your heritage. No matter how you tell this story: it is filtered through opinions, beliefs, and other filters.
As you know it is the 50-year anniversary of my high school graduation.
I had a bunch of extraordinary folks as classmates: they have been meeting every year for the past ten years… and this year they decided to redo the yearbook, which is not a book in Hungary: it is a big board with everyone’s picture and their names.
In addition they decided to ask for a report from each student, to document their 50 years since graduation. I sent in my report, and I made a new picture with my webcam.
I received the report about their last 50 years, from 22 of my still living 33 class mates from the best high school in Hungary. (The school was so good, they wanted me to leave, because I wasn’t good enough, at age 16. My father had
What is soul correction and why would the “divine” part of you need correction?
Let me explain:
The Universe has three energetic components: the positive, the negative, and the neutral.
This repeats itself on every level, the micro and the macro…
On the macro level the positive, giving component is The Force. The negative, receiving component are the souls, and the neutral/restrictive component is the individual’s consciousness.
